Sustainability and Compliance at Sherle Wagner
Timeless by Design
At Sherle Wagner, sustainability begins with permanence.
For nearly eighty years, we have designed and crafted pieces intended not for seasons, but for lifetimes. Our most meaningful contribution to sustainability lies in the timeless quality of our designs and the enduring integrity of our craftsmanship. Objects made to last—emotionally, aesthetically, and physically—are objects that do not need replacing.
Each Sherle Wagner piece is created with longevity as a fundamental principle. Cast in solid brass and finished by hand, our products are built to withstand decades of use while retaining their beauty and relevance. This durability reduces the cycle of disposal and replacement that defines disposable design.
Refurbishment & Renewal
Equally important to longevity is our ability to refurbish, restore, and refinish our products.
Because Sherle Wagner maintains control over design and manufacturing, our fittings can be renewed rather than discarded and updated to suit new interiors or future generations. Many Sherle Wagner pieces live multiple lives, moving from one home to another while retaining their original integrity and character.
This capacity for restoration is central to our philosophy: true luxury is worth preserving.
For less than the cost of buying new, send your product to our Massachusetts workshop for a full refurbishment, including new valves, hand-replating, and hand-polishing returning it to its original state. If purchased before 1995, send it back for us to recycle and receive a discount on a product.
CALGreen & Regulatory Compliance
Sherle Wagner operates within a highly regulated industry and is committed to meeting applicable regulatory standards wherever our products are specified.
Where required, Sherle Wagner fittings are engineered to comply with California’s CALGreen water efficiency codes, as well as other relevant plumbing and materials regulations. We approach compliance thoughtfully by ensuring water flow performance and efficiency standards are met without compromising the experience, craftsmanship, or design integrity that define our work.
Regulatory compliance is not treated as a marketing claim, but as a baseline responsibility. We continuously monitor evolving requirements and adapt product engineering accordingly to support designers, architects, and specifiers working within local and regional codes.
IAPMO Certification
All Sherle Wagner plumbing products are certified by IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials).
IAPMO certification verifies that our products meet rigorous national and regional plumbing codes for safety, performance, and materials compliance. This independent third-party validation ensures that Sherle Wagner fittings are engineered, tested, and approved for use across a wide range of residential and commercial applications.
By maintaining IAPMO certification across our product offerings, we support designers, architects, and specifiers working within complex regulatory environments—providing confidence that exceptional design and uncompromising craftsmanship are matched by verified technical compliance.
At Sherle Wagner, regulatory adherence is not an afterthought. It is an integral part of delivering enduring luxury, responsibly made.
A Considered Approach
We believe sustainability is not achieved through trend-driven solutions or disposable design, but through responsible craftsmanship, regulatory awareness, and objects worthy of long-term care.
By creating enduring works of functional art—and standing behind them long after installation—Sherle Wagner minimizes waste while honoring a legacy of excellence, restraint, and lasting beauty.
Sustainability, to us, is timeless by design.
For Extraordinary Living. Since 1945.
